Fleischgewehr

A visceral and provocative sculpture that combines the raw power of nature with the cold, hard edge of machinery. This installation presents a stark and unapologetic exploration of humanity's dual nature: both brutal and sensual. At its core lies 3 kilograms of fresh pork, meticulously sculpted into the form of a machine gun, a symbol of raw, unbridled power and aggression. This fleshy, organic shape is then encased within 12 kilograms of resin, creating a stark contrast between the soft, yielding meat and the hard, unyielding plastic.

The resin serves as a preservative, locking the pork in a state of perpetual decay, while also amplifying the sexual undertones of the piece. The phallic shape of the machine gun, combined with the fleshy, organic material, evokes a sense of primal, almost carnal desire. This sculpture is a testament to the rawness and brutality of mankind, a reminder of our primal instincts and the power that lies within us. It challenges viewers to confront their own perceptions of violence, sexuality, and the human condition, leaving a lasting impression that is as disturbing as it is captivating.
